Berkati: Google access for your AI assistant

Last updated 4 November 2026

What Berkati is

Berkati is a private service that connects a person's Google accounts to their AI assistant, Claude. Once connected, the assistant can work with your Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Chat, Tasks, Contacts and the other Google services listed below, on your instruction, in your own conversations.

It is built on mcp-google-multi, an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server I wrote. Berkati is the hosted edition of that server, running at gmulti.ideacrafters.com. When you see "Berkati" on a Google sign-in screen, this is the service asking for access.

Who it is for

Berkati is by invitation only. It is for my team, partners and collaborators. It is not sold, advertised or open to the public, and it has no paid plan. You cannot sign up on your own: you need an invitation from me.

How it works

  1. I send you an invitation link.
  2. You sign in with your Google account. This first step only reads your account address, so that the service knows who you are. It gives the service no access to your mail, files or calendar.
  3. You connect the assistant (Claude) to your Berkati workspace.
  4. In a conversation, you ask the assistant to do something, for example "find the invoice from last week" or "add a meeting on Thursday". The assistant calls Berkati, Berkati calls Google on your behalf, and the answer goes back to the assistant.
  5. Whenever you want to link a Google account, Google shows you a consent screen that lists exactly what is requested. You decide whether to allow it.

By default, actions that change something (sending, editing, deleting) need your approval in the assistant before they run. You can choose a stricter setting (read only) or a looser one.

Which Google data it uses, and why

Berkati only touches Google data to carry out what you ask your assistant to do. It does not browse your data on its own and does not read it for any other purpose.

Google serviceWhat the assistant can do with it
GmailSearch and read messages, create drafts, send and organise mail you ask it to send or organise
Google DriveSearch, read, create, move and share files and folders you point it to
Google CalendarRead your calendars and events, create and change events
Google Docs and SheetsRead and edit documents and spreadsheets you point it to
Google TasksRead and manage your task lists
Google ContactsLook up and manage contacts
Search ConsoleRead search performance data and manage sitemaps for sites you own
Google MeetRead meeting details for spaces you can access

Some extra services are never requested unless you or the assistant ask for them when linking an account, and Google shows them on the consent screen: Slides, Forms, Chat, Classroom, Gmail settings, Drive activity and labels, Apps Script, Analytics, Cloud Identity, Directory and a few other Workspace services. Google Admin access (managing users and groups) is not available on Berkati.

If you do not want to grant a permission, do not tick it on the Google consent screen.

What happens to your data

  • Berkati does not keep copies of your emails, files, events or contacts. It fetches them from Google when your assistant asks, and passes them to the assistant in the reply.
  • It stores what it needs to keep working: an encrypted sign-in token for each Google account you link, and a small record of which accounts belong to your workspace.
  • It does not sell your data, show advertising, or use Google data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

The full details are in the Privacy policy. The rules for using the service are in the Terms.

Control and revocation

You can remove Berkati's access to a Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have your workspace and stored data deleted, email me at the address below.
